In the case of Dand Ellot of Braidley being Martin of Braidley brother’s son. Brother in this case is figurative. Martin, and Dand’s father were not german brothers. It is likely that this Dand of Braidley was of the Gorrenberry Elwald/Ellot family.

Basically tweaks were needed;
This puts William, Robert and Andrew (Dand) with first wife, and Gavin, and Archibald with second wife, and brings into question of a Gilbert (Gib, not to be Gilbert of Redheugh/Stobs but likely uncle). This would give reason for Gilbert of Stobs/Redheugh to receive name from uncle.
Work a thought still needs to be done on above but shows that Gilbert could be a Horseleyhill name.
Brother’s son to Martin of Braidley, more means brethren, which these would be.
